Nectarine

A smooth-skinned, genetic mutation of the peach (*Prunus persica var. nucipersica*). Lacking the fuzzy trichomes of a peach, nectarines often have a slightly firmer texture and a sharper, more pronounced acidity, making them excellent candidates for raw slicing, salads, or high-heat grilling.
