Brown Rice

A whole-grain cereal (*Oryza sativa*) that retains its nutrient-dense bran and germ layers. It has a chewier texture and nuttier flavor than white rice, and requires a significantly longer cooking time (around 45 minutes) to soften its tough outer cellulose layer.
