Wild Rice

Not a true rice, but rather the long, dark seed of a marsh grass (*Zizania*) native to North America. It offers a distinctly intense, woodsy, and toasted tea-like flavor, and features a tough outer sheath that pops open to reveal a tender interior when boiled.
